Behind the CHARACTERS

Troy Brown:

There is a bit of the teenage me in Troy but he is far better looking, better at football and more neurotic than me.

Kevin Brown:

I have to confess that this character is me but with a lot more toughness added.

Alison Brown:

Is an amalgamation of all the good mothers I have ever known. Everybody knows several people's mums.

Grandad Brown:

A bit like my late Grandads.

Nan Brown:

Nothing like any grandmother I have ever known. Totally original character.

Edward Case:

I have had a few best mates over the years. Mix them all together and take out the bad bits and you have Ed.

Lara Matthews:

I never ever met a Lara before. She is out of anyone's league. But I have felt Troy's love for her.

Stuart "Spud" Hudd:

There is always someone in life who you think is uglier than you but has no trouble getting a girl. That is Spud.

Nathan "Meat" Edge:

Dark and handsome lads sometimes have bum fluff tashes.

Tom Sibley:

Made up to tell the earlobe pulling story. Also to create text confusion. He has the same first initial as Troy.

Karl Sibley:

Made up because I detest boy racers. Also being an older lad he enables the younger lads to be able to gain access to alcohol. Vital to enable these kids to get drunk. Like we used to at that age.

Katie Wallace:

There are girls in ones life that have a certain reputation. Sometimes people forget that they are human beings. Katie is that type of girl. Misunderstood.

Vernon Chandler:

Young man that the teenagers look up to and love for his wicked humour.

Terry Smith:

Hard nut but still a human being.

Jason Dwyer:

Jason is an amalgamation of every funny friend I have ever known. He tells the gags I didn't have the courage to tell at that age.

Jason Ince:

I never ever really knew anybody like Jason Ince.

Kylie Williams:

I have known a few sweet and pretty girls that I have never really been interested in. They may have ended up being the girlfriends of my. Kylie is one of those girls.

Kelly Brent:

Just one of the girls.

Stevie Nash:

Just one of the lads

Nathan Salter:

There is always one bloke you know in your life with a small ego and a large man hood. He is Nathan Salter.

Cathy Stenning:

I never ever had an aunt like Cathy.

Grandad Stenning:

Has the strength of my late grandfathers.

Nan Stenning:

It seems that the older some women get the harder they find it to kiss without leaving any saliva on the benefactor of their affection.

Ricky Kinsella:

People often can't see past the drunk. See past it with Ricky Kinsella and you may glimpse my late and beloved father who was so talented but never reached his potential.

Griz:

A tribute to my Tigger.

Pitbull:

A tribute to all the bullies I have ever known. But even bullies have a good side.

Zoe Case:

Watch this space. A character created for book 2.

Barry Whitticker:

A character created to enable me to write a few gags related to absent mindedness and stupidity. Barry is far more daft than anybody I have ever known.

Donna Bull:

Sleeping with the enemy? Donna is that girl I have never ever seen. An amazingly beautiful Pompey fan.

Trevor Smith:

Another bully.

Annicka:

Annicka does, in my story what none of the Swedish au pairs I remember having as a child, ever did.
